Pit Bull Terrier - Bella - Medium - Adult - Female - Dog
Hey! My name is Bella. I have a bit of a Cinderella story, but seeing me today, I doubt you would know it. I was removed from a home in Calvert, AL on February 14, 2012. I had been chained at this guy's house for a couple of years without shelter, guaranteed food, or clean water. I had sarcoptic mange, internal parasites, and was severely underweight. The nice people at The S.H.A.C.K. came and rescued me from my life of neglect. I spent a month at a local vet being treated for my external and internal parasites. Since March 15 I have been with my foster mom. I am now scabies free, but unfortunately I am very strong heartworm positive. I tend to not care for other dogs, but my foster mom has spent a lot of time with a trainer and I have come very far from where I used to be. I need to be an only dog. Not only because I don't care for other dogs too much, but also because my heart cannot handle the stress of extensive playing or getting too excited. I need to find a home where I can have a lot of attention and where someone will make sure to maintain my medical needs. I am absolutely gorgeous and have the personality to match. I am white and have black/grey brindle markings. I have human like eyes and will kiss your tears away when you are sad. But being around me is sure to make you happy! I give very soft kisses. I am missing several teeth and many of my teeth are broken due to chewing on a chain for years, but none of that has made me hate humans as you may think I should. I have LOVED every person that I have met. The only drawback for my teeth is I can't chew on some of the harder bones that I wish I could! I will give you nothing but unconditional love and be by your side. I LOVE treats and will sit very pretty to earn one from you. I am house, crate trained, and do well on a harness. I would love nothing more than to meet my new forever family. The process of adopting me may be a little different than you are used to, but that's only because my foster mom and people at The S.H.A.C.K. want to know I am going to the PERFECT place for me. First, email us at [email removed] and request an adoption application. Should your application be chosen, my foster mom will set up a few meetings and we will transition me into my new home. There will be periodic follow up visits, just to ensure my safety and making sure all my medical needs have been met! All I want for the rest of my life, is to continue to know the love that I have found in the past few months.
